Like most people, we were a two income family. Time has gone by rather quickly and now we are looking at retirement. Tom retired and took a “retirement” job. He was self- employed before and the new retirement job was not anything like self-employment.  He did this nine- to- five thing for a number of years but it just wasn’t like being self-employed.

Laurie too, was rapidly approaching retirement age.  We were both keenly aware that we needed to take care of our health.  Already, general health problems related to old age began to crop up.

We knew that we had to find something that would keep us in good health and something to provide us with a revenue stream in our golden years. Now was the time to take a long hard look at the things we had always wanted: a work from home job, keep our own hours, travel when we wanted, and of course, we wanted a revenue stream that just keeps on coming. We also wanted a way to help other people.  

We wanted to make a difference but it had to be doing something that fit with our values. In short, what we were looking for is what is called the lifestyle of personal freedom

That sounded like a tall order considering that it described the “Dream Job” of just about everyone we knew. We looked any way, it couldn’t hurt to try. First we looked at a lot of “Too-Good-To-be-True” schemes—they were. Then we looked at get-rich-quick schemes that promised everything but in the end turned out to be scams. There were those few plans that did come through with at least one thing that we were looking for but they always fell short of delivering the whole package.

This is one of the reasons this site was created.  We navigated the internet jungle and after many blind alleys, scams, and dead ends, we eventually, found exactly what we were looking for. One of our goals was to help other people so the first thing we want to do, now that we have found our dream, is share what we have learned with you.

We can tell you from years of past experience that is not easy, if you don’t have help. We are here to help you. We want to connect and work with like-minded people.

Whether your dream is escaping the 9-5 grind, real-life travel, or a dramatic career change, this site will give insight into the tools you will need to make it a reality in your life in the -here–and-now instead of at some point in the distant future, when you may not be able to enjoy it.
